Javakheti consists of hilly highlands (1000m above sealevel and more). It is the coldest region of Georgia. Winters are very cold, summer's sun is very hot. If the sun hides behind clouds, even in high summers it quickly becomes cold.
Agriculture focuses on livestock breeding and potatoes mainly. With all the flowers (see below) it's no wonder bees give delicious honey. Many fruits like melons and peaches come from other Georgian regions to the markets of Javakheti.

The soil is either black or red or stony. Lush hills alternate with canyons.
